Conference Keynote Speakers
Kathy Sparks Lesnoff
Having facilitated the horrors of abortion in the past, Kathy Sparks is now a fierce pro-life advocate. “Called out of darkness and into His marvelous light” may best describe the testimony of Kathy who, having once worked as a medical assistant in an abortion clinic, is now serving the Lord Jesus Christ as President/CEO of Mosaic Pregnancy & Health Centers in Granite City and Belleville, Illinois.
Kathy’s testimony of the supernatural intervention of God in her life brings to reality the Holy Scripture, which declares, “…and we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
Along with other ministerial responsibilities, Kathy also travels extensively throughout the United States sharing her testimony at banquets, workshops, and symposiums. In November 2007, she had the opportunity to speak on five college campuses in the country of Ireland. Her testimony has appeared in Christian Herald Magazine and in several videos including, ‘Meet the Abortion Providers’ produced and distributed by the Pro-Life Action League of Chicago, and ‘The Testimony of Kathy Sparks,’ produced and distributed nationwide by Mission City Television of San Antonio, Texas. More recently, her testimony was featured in a two-part segment by Dr. James Dobson on Focus on the Family.
She is passionate about seeing audiences understand the true nature of abortion. She loves communicating the truth to audiences all over the country.
Kathy is a mother of five and has been counseling women caught in crisis pregnancies for the last 29 years.
Julie & Derrick Tennant
Julie and Derrick Tennant are a dynamic brother and sister duo that loves life and desires to help others do the same. Julie has Down Syndrome and Derrick is paralyzed on his left side. Despite these challenges both of them have learned that in life, obstacles are opportunities and joy is a choice. Julie has an “extra” chromosome and her grampa said it wasn’t extra but everyone else is MISSING it. He called it The LOVE Chromosome.
Derrick calls his sister his hero and is proud of nothing more than being “Julie’s brother”. Derrick’s life challenges are more physical. As a gifted athlete he was progressing in his dream for a career in sports when one evening he laid down but did not wake up for three days.
He had undergone what doctors would later termrandom bleeding from point x for an unknown reason. Paralyzed and in a coma, Derrick underwent brain surgery from which he became unable to move his left side. It would take years of therapy to re-learn the basics like walking, talking and simple daily tasks. Derrick is still unable to use his left arm and he walks with a limp, but he has learned a lot through this process. He has also since played basketball competitively in multiple countries despite his limited use of the left side.
Julie will always have an extra chromosome and Derrick will always be paralyzed, yet both have chosen to do all they can to love life and share joy. They now travel and share their story while encouraging others to use their obstacles as opportunities. Their motto: Live Simply. Love Wastefully. Using their story, inspiration, comedy and even a little magic, Julie and Derrick entertain and motivate audiences around the world.

Live on stage, a three-member cast will perform a one-act play about hope and forgiveness as Viable presents the truth about Christ’s love, healing, and redemption.
